As a technology teacher I regularly use design thinking in my classes. I propose problems to the students and they have to face them using their creativity to come up with possible solutions that are developed through manipulation, reflection and the application of their knowledge in other STEM subjects, usually starting from empathy, as shown in the video about the water filtering project.
I strongly believe that this way of learning motivates and empowers them, as well as making them learn in a meaningful way. As for the challenges involved, I believe that having more flexible times and greater resources would make this methodology more efficient.
