Dissemination and Community engagement

Dissemination played a central role throughout the DataScEd4CiEn project. From the very beginning, the consortium worked to ensure that its research, educational resources and project outcomes reached teachers, teacher educators, researchers, schools and policy makers across Europe and beyond.

Rather than limiting dissemination to the final stages of the project, activities were embedded throughout the three-year project lifecycle. Through conferences, webinars, multiplier events, newsletters, social media, publications, institutional websites and professional networks, the consortium built an active international community committed to advancing Data Science Education in STEAM for civic engagement and social justice.

Sharing Knowledge Across Europe

Project results were disseminated through a wide range of communication channels to ensure that educators and researchers could access, use and share the project’s resources.

Conferences, Workshops and Scientific Events

The DataScEd4CiEn consortium actively disseminated the project’s research through presentations at international conferences, scientific meetings, invited lectures, workshops and round-table discussions.

Project partners presented the conceptual framework, professional development programme, classroom implementations and research findings at numerous international events, including conferences in Europe and invited presentations in Brazil, helping to extend the project’s impact beyond the Erasmus+ partnership.

Research publications

The project generated a substantial number of scientific outputs, including journal articles, conference papers, posters and presentations.

These publications contribute to the growing international field of Data Science Education and ensure that the project’s findings continue to inform future research and educational practice.

    Building an International Community of Educators

    One of the project’s greatest achievements has been the creation of a growing international community of educators interested in Data Science Education.

    Throughout the project, teachers, teacher educators and researchers collaborated through the Professional Development Course, multiplier events, webinars and international conferences. This community continued to grow as project resources became openly available through the Online Learning Platform and project website, encouraging educators from different countries to adapt and implement the DataScEd4CiEn approach within their own educational contexts.

    National Multiplier Events

    Each partner organised National Multiplier Events to showcase the project’s outcomes and engage local educational communities.

    These events brought together teachers, school leaders, researchers, universities, policy makers and educational organisations, providing opportunities to:

    • Present the project results
    • Demonstrate classroom scenarios
    • Showcase the Professional Development Course
    • Share research findings
    • Promote collaboration among educators

    Webinars and Professional Development events

    The consortium organised webinars and workshops introducing educators to the project’s innovative approach to Data Science Education in STEAM.

    These online events focused on topics such as:

    • Data Science in STEAM Education
    • Using CODAP for classroom investigations
    • Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning
    • Classroom implementation of STEAM scenarios

    The webinars enabled educators from different countries to engage with the project’s resources regardless of geographical location, further extending the project’s international reach.

    Newsletters, Social Media and Online promotion

    Communication with educators and stakeholders was maintained throughout the project through multiple online channels.

    Highlights included:

    • Six project newsletters published throughout the project’s lifetime.
    • Regular updates through the project website.
    • Facebook, Instagram and X (Twitter) posts showcasing project activities and results.
    • News articles published on partner institutions’ websites.
    • Promotion through Erasmus+ networks and educational organisations.
    • Sharing classroom implementations, conferences and project milestones with the wider educational community.

    These communication activities ensured continuous visibility of the project and encouraged educators to explore and use the freely available resources.

    Reaching Professional Networks

    To maximise impact beyond the consortium, the final project resources were promoted through extensive professional networks.

    A project press release was distributed to teacher academies, educational organisations, universities and professional associations across Europe, encouraging them to share the project’s freely available resources with their members. The dissemination campaign highlighted the Professional Development Course, classroom scenarios and Online Learning Platform, helping extend the project’s reach to educators beyond the participating countries.

    Recent Updates:

    • Website Launch: The official DataScEd4CiEn website has been launched, serving as a central hub for project information, resources, and updates.
    • Presentations at Conferences: Project partners have actively presented at various national and international conferences, sharing insights and developments related to the project.
    • Newsletters: Regular newsletters have been disseminated among partners’ contacts, keeping stakeholders informed about project progress and upcoming events.

    Lasting impact

    The dissemination strategy ensured that DataScEd4CiEn became much more than a three-year Erasmus+ project. Through sustained communication, open educational resources, international collaboration and active engagement with educational communities, the project established a lasting legacy for Data Science Education in STEAM.

    Today, teachers, teacher educators and researchers can continue to access the project’s professional development materials, classroom scenarios, research publications and online learning resources free of charge, supporting the continued growth of an international community committed to promoting data literacy, civic engagement and social justice through education.

    DataScEd4CiEn has been actively shared with educational communities throughout Europe and beyond through conferences, publications, webinars, multiplier events, newsletters, social media and institutional networks. These activities have helped establish a growing international community dedicated to Data Science Education, STEAM and civic engagement.
