STEAM education focused on data is an exciting way to encourage students to engage in civic participation. By introducing data science in the classroom, students not only develop technical skills but also learn how to use data to understand and solve real-world problems that affect their communities. This training has helped me see the potential of data as a tool for informed decision-making and social change. However, there are challenges, such as how to simplify complex data concepts for younger students. I am particularly interested in how this approach could shape the students’ understanding of their role in society and their ability to participate actively.
