Completion of the First Professional Development Course in Germany

We are pleased to announce the successful completion of the first Professional Development course of the DataScEd4CiEn project, implemented in Germany.

The course engaged 20 pre-service teachers, offering them valuable knowledge and hands-on experience in integrating data science into STEAM education, with a focus on civic engagement and social justice.

Course Delivery and Timeline

The training was delivered across multiple sessions:

  • 📅 17–18 October 2025 – Modules 1–3
  • 📅 28 November 2025 – Follow-up session and completion

The course was led by:

Learning Experience

Throughout the course, participants:

  • Explored the DataScEd4CiEn conceptual framework
  • Engaged with data inquiry processes and classroom strategies
  • Worked with digital tools for data analysis and visualisation
  • Reflected on how data science can address real-world and social justice issues

The training emphasised hands-on, inquiry-based learning, supporting participants in developing their own ideas for classroom implementation.

Impact

The course empowered pre-service teachers to:
