From 13–16 May 2026, Lisa Birk from Münster University presented the DataScEd4CiEn project at the international STE(A)M conference “I Seminário Internacional de Educação no Cerrado / IV Encontro de Educação em Ciências e Matemática – Educar no cerrado: saberes que florescem entre Ciência e Matemática” held at the Federal University of Uberlândia (UFU) in Uberlândia, Brazil.
The conference brought together researchers, teachers, and students from the fields of science and mathematics education to promote dialogue, reflection, and the dissemination of educational research at regional, national, and international levels.
As part of the event, Lisa Birk contributed as an invited speaker during a round table session and also facilitated a teacher workshop. Both activities were used to disseminate the DataScEd4CiEn project, introducing participants to the project’s objectives, pedagogical framework, and selected professional development materials developed within the project.
The conference provided an excellent opportunity to engage with an international audience interested in STE(A)M education, data literacy, science education, and mathematics education. In particular, the event theme — “Educating in the Cerrado: knowledge that flourishes between Science and Mathematics” — strongly resonated with the interdisciplinary and innovative approach promoted through DataScEd4CiEn.
